NGO Reports, Materials and Statements
NGO Report
In July 2010, a large coalition of non-government organisations (NGOs) from across Australia prepared a joint NGO submission to the Universal Periodic Review of Australia. The submission was prepared with substantial input and guidance from a high-level NGO Working Group and was endorsed, in whole or part, by 68 leading organisations.
NGO Statement
On 16 May 2011, the NGO Coalition submitted a written statement on the Universal Periodic Review of Australia for consideration under Item 6 at the 17th Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva in June 2011.
NGO Fact Sheets and Materials
To assist States, NHRIs and NGOs to participate in the Universal Periodic Review of Australia, the NGO coalition prepared a range of thematic fact sheets. Each fact sheet contains background to the issue and suggested questions and recommendations for Australia. A consolidated version of all of the Fact Sheets is also available.
